LibreOffice is a free and open-source office suite, from The Document Foundation. It includes word processing, spreadsheets, slideshows, diagrams and drawings and working with databases. Some of the included applications are :

- Writer
- Calc
- Impress
- Draw
- Math
- Base

It was forked from OpenOffice.org in 2010. Available for Microsoft Windows, mac-OS, and Linux, it has been a go-to office suite for most popular Linux distributions.

Version 6.3 beta brings many new features, performance improvements and enhancements to be included in future release. One of major changes will be no longer support for 32-bit GNU/Linux distributions going forward, and hence 32-bit binaries of LibreOffice 6.3 would not be available.

### New spreadsheet function:

**FOURIER function***: *New fourier function in LibreOffice Calc computes Discrete Fourier Transform [DFT] of a real/complex data sequence, done through Fast Fourier Transform algorithms. The two different Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) algorithms implemented are:

- Radix-2 Decimation in Time FFT
- Bluestein’s algorithm

For GUI Fourier Analysis Tool is also introduced, features of FOURIER formula are also available graphically in this tool.

**Redaction Tool**

Redaction of text is also introduced in LibreOffice allowing user to black out the text from produced PDF. It allows document to converted into LibreOffice drawing document, where user can redact text by drawing a rectangle over it. However to produce document safe to output, one has to produce PDF output of document, which converts document to image and hence incapable to select text.

LibreOffice 6.3 will be released in mid August 2019.
