In this article, we cover how to install Kdenlive in Ubuntu 22.04 release. It is a free and open source cross-platform video editing application. The video processing is done through an open source multimedia framework – Media Lovin’ Toolkit (MLT) framework.
One of its most notable feature is proxy editing. It mainly lets us edit clips with ease by creating low resolution copies. And, when we are done it would do a full scale render. This ensures that our system resources could be utilized someplace else while we edit the clips. Furthermore, it also supports various audio and video file formats.
The package is available to install through standard Ubuntu repository. We cover its installation steps next.
Note: Following operations require superuser privileges. In case you don’t have one then we advise you to contact your System Administrator for assistance.
