In this article, we cover how to Listen to podcasts for free with Google Podcasts. A podcast series usually involve one or more hosts who discuss a specific topic with their guests. There are numerous applications that allow us to listen to podcasts. One such application we find pretty interesting is Google Podcasts.

Developed by Google, Google Podcasts is a cross-platform application that was first released on June 18, 2018. It comes with Google Cast support. We can access Google Podcasts from Android, iOS, macOS, Windows, ChromeOS, and Web browsers.

One of the benefits of listening to podcasts with Google Podcasts is that the podcasts are free. And, we can subscribe to the podcasts of our favorite hosts, and as and when new podcasts are available, we are notified.

At the time of writing, it is one of the most popular podcast applications with more than 500 million application downloads on the Google Play Store.

How to install Google Podcasts on our Android Device?

Open the Play Store App, and in the Search Box at the top enter Google Podcasts. Install the application provided by Google LLC. It is about 2.6 MB in size.

After it’s installed, we can either launch the application from the Play Store App now or from our device menu later.

You would notice the search bar at the top of the application. From here, we can search for podcasts that interests us. For instance, if you are interested in listening podcast from Joe Buddon. Then, Enter “The Joe Budden Podcast” (without quotes) here in the search bar. It would show you a list of search results. Tap on one of the search results and you would notice the button: Subscribe. Tap on the Subscribe button to ensure all the future podcasts from the channel are notified when new podcasts become available.

Apart from that, we can also download the podcast for offline listening. There is an option for that as well.

Open a web browser like Google Chrome, Enter the above link in the address bar. That would take you to the Homepage of Google Podcasts. If you are logged in then, you can subscribe to the channel, queue, etc.
